Meet Esme, the smiliest and happiest wee baby!
Esme visited the Bella cake smash Edinburgh studio all the way from Chicago. She definitely gets the award for the most miles travelled to see us! She is spending the summer in Scotland with her mummies, Bobi and Rachel, and they’d decided to book in for a shoot to celebrate her birthday. I have to admit my heart did a little jump for joy when Esme arrived at the studio with Rachel and Bobi. She greeted me with a huge grin, ran straight over to the set up, jumped up onto the wee stool and started wiggling and dancing away. What a delight!
Vintage and boho cake smash sessions
When Bobi and Rachel first got in touch they told me how much they loved the more vintage and boho look. Especially blush pinks and light greens. I was more than happy to oblige and spent a lovely hour decorating the set with bunting, heaps of flowers, and our soft pink rug. Shopping for the props was a lot of fun too. The curved stool came from Bee4Bee Photography Props. Esme loved it and it looks so good on set. I also had some flower crowns and headbands from Wild Thistle Photography Props which Esme adored wearing – and doesn’t she look cute in them!
Fun photography sessions for babies and toddlers
We all had so much fun throughout Esme’s photoshoot. I was so touched to hear from Rachel afterwards, she told me that I made the morning so easy and relaxed for them and she couldn’t recommend me enough. It’s so good to hear that from parents, making sure that their little ones are having fun and enjoying themselves is key so I love knowing that everyone has left the session feeling happy.
I split my cake smash sessions into three parts. We start off with some photos on the set. I encourage lots of smiles and get everyone involved with singing and dancing. Esme adored this part of her shoot. She especially loved singing along with us to “Happy Birthday” and I don’t think she stopped dancing for a second!
Then it was time for the cake smash! Esme was dressed in a pink tutu and flower crown, she kept giving little excited wiggles as she waited for the cake to come out. As soon as it was placed in front of her she took a taste, pushed it over then clapped herself and proudly declared “all gone”. What a character!
And finally it’s bath time! This is the chance for little ones to get clean after all that yummy cake! Esme had such a lovely time splashing around in the bubbles and she loved the little pink duck.
Oh Esme, what an absolute joy it was to meet you and spend time with you and your mummies. I had the best morning with you all and I can’t wait to see you again.
