Oh Albie! What a little cutie.
Albie’s newborn shoot took place back in September when he was ten days old and I still can’t quite get over how adorable he is. Those toes! That little pout!

My newborn sessions are, generally, very peaceful and tranquil. The studio is nice and warm, we have white noise or heart sounds playing to help settle the baby. Everyone speaks in hushed tones and the atmosphere is calm.
Albie didn’t need any of this! He was a little rockstar! He’s the youngest of four siblings, so as you can imagine their house is anything but peaceful and tranquil! Mum, Dad and his big sister Emily came along to the shoot and told me that Albie settles best to Viking rock music. They put it on and he was instantly calm and snoozy. It was magic!
My friend, Michelle, from Michelle Putka Photography, had come along to the studio to drop something off but ended up staying to help me out with the session and wrapping Albie. It was so much fun to work with her and lovely to have an extra pair of hands. Not that I had any trouble with Albie, he was so chilled!
Mum and Dad had brought along some items that had significance to their family, including a small Thor hammer and some Viking drinking horns. They’d also brought along some soft toys that had particular significance to them. I loved how he snuggled into the cuddly snake as I curled it around him. His little hand resting on his cheek was just so lovely.
Of course I had to use a tartan wrap for him as well, he was so snug. His Mum and Dad fell in love with the tartan trousers I put him in, I don’t blame them, he looked super cute wearing them.
This whole session was just an absolute dream from start to finish. Albie snoozed away and was so content. He would let me position his hands and feet however I needed them – although he was most comfortable when he had his hand resting on his chest, how adorable does he look?! I always make sure to photograph all the little details too, tiny fingers and toes are a particular favourite. Albie loved it when I photographed his Mum/Dad’s thumb against his toes. He curled his toes up and wouldn’t let go!
I found it so hard to choose my favourites from Albie’s session. They were all my favourites, haha!
